Bell Cow Productions works to bring thoughtful conversations about books, writers, publishing, and literary culture to audiences wherever they happen to find them. Alongside our podcasts and live events, Bell Cow is helping produce, preserve, and distribute literary programming through television, radio, streaming, and other media.

Our goal is simple: give good conversations a life beyond the room where they happen — and give writers more ways to reach readers.

Television

Writer’s Corner → Beyond The Written Word

Writer’s Corner has featured authors, publishers, reviewers, and other literary voices in thoughtful monthly conversations about books, craft, publishing, and the ideas surrounding literature.

Created and produced by Alan Miller, the program has welcomed guests including William Kent Krueger, David Housewright, Matt Goldman, Brian Freeman, Tracy Clark, Christine Husom, Shawn Otto, Craig Johnson, and many more.

Beginning in 2027, Writer’s Corner enters its next chapter as Beyond The Written Word, hosted by author and co-creator of Bell Cow Productions Rob Jung.

The program will also expand from a half hour to an hour, creating more room for conversations about a wide range of topics related to writing in all its forms.

Bell Cow’s other half, Michael MacBride, supports the production and digital side of the program, helping extend episodes through YouTube, online resources, and the broader Bell Cow network.

Writer’s Corner and Beyond The Written Word are produced in partnership with Eagan-TV, with additional distribution through community television stations and online platforms.

Radio

Masters of Mystery Radio Hour

Masters of Mystery Radio Hour brings conversations recorded live at Minnesota Mystery Night to radio audiences across the Upper Midwest.

Hosted by Rob Jung, Minnesota Mystery Night features mystery, thriller, suspense, and crime writers in conversation before a live audience. Selected programs are then adapted for terrestrial radio and distributed to stations across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.

Many of those conversations also live on through Bell Cow’s Mystery Conversations podcast.

One conversation can begin in a room, travel over the radio, appear on television, and be discovered months later online.

That’s the kind of literary media Bell Cow is building.
