The Bell Cow Cattle-Log will always be at the heart of what we do: connecting authors with libraries, bookstores, event organizers, book clubs, and readers. But good books do not stop at a state line, and neither do good conversations. Beyond the Pasture gives us room to meet authors whose work, backgrounds, creative paths, and perspectives deserve a wider introduction.

This is where we sit down with writers to talk about the whole picture: who they are, where they come from, how they found their way to writing, what sparked their latest book, and what readers will discover once they open it. We may talk characters, setting, research, history, publishing, politics, culture, family, ambition, identity, second chances, creative detours, or whatever else helps reveal the heart of a story.

Some guests may have a brand-new release. Others may be returning to a beloved backlist title, taking on a new genre, bringing decades of professional experience into fiction, or simply arriving with a story too interesting to keep inside the fence.

What ties these conversations together is curiosity. We want to know what shaped the writer, what shaped the book, and what readers might carry with them after the last page.
